Tasting Notes

Bold and lively, this vintage possesses a brightness of fruit like no other. With notes of apricot stone, plum preserves, and roasted cacao, together with round tannins and the pleasing spice indicative of the Lewelling Ranch, this wine is lovely now and will evolve gracefully with cellaring.

Pairs well with hard aged cheeses, spicy lamb stew or a blue cheese burger.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Lewelling Ranch is a blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it slips sensuously out of the glass with provocative scents of boysenberries, plum preserves, cassis and underbrush, with hints of pencil shavings and charcoal. The full-bodied palate is wonderfully spicy with tons of juicy black fruits and a long opulent finish. Wine Advocate November 2021

Tech Details

Harvested from Lewelling Ranch, an alluvial fan at the base of St. Helena’s western foothills, that produces lush, fruit forward wines. The soil is bale, gravelly loam. Aged in 70% new French oak and bottled in May 2021.
