From 70+ year-old vineyards at the ‘Faraway Ranch’ in Altamira (Uco Valley), this dense Malbec is full-bodied with thick tannins
Dark as night, a basket of enticing floral aromas (especially violets), Malbec’s intense red and black fruit flavors underlined with superbly integrated French oak notes giving way to a long, spicy finish.
Firm but supple tannins make this wine worthy of rich foods like steak with a port reduction, duck with an intense cherry sauce, or a slowly-braised veal shank.
Bright ruby. Some surprisingly ripe notes to the aromas of blackberry, cassis, licorice and crushed rock. Highly concentrated, dense and dry, with its saline black fruit and violet flavors energized by calcium carbonate in the soil of this Altamira site. At once sharply delineated and deep, this old-vines Malbec is wonderfully refined and savory.Vinous September 2019
Made with both eyes on the future, this is a superb Malbec that will only improve with age. Floral, taut and focused with some aromatic spices, fine-grained tannins and layers of red and black fruits underpinned by minerality. 2021-2031Tim Atkin May 2019

A ripe impression on the nose with a swathe of wild mountain herbs and quite dark plums and blackberries. The palate has a smooth, rich, mellow feel and very ripe fruit, in a classic style.James Suckling March 2019
The grapes come from the Paraje Altamira vineyard in Uco Valley, Mendoza. The wine is aged 12 months in 100% oak barrels.
