This Malbec is from the newly designated sub-appellation Paraje Altamira in the Uco Valley. Available exclusively at restaurants and wine bars.
Notes of black cherry and dark berry with hints of violet, vanilla, and mocha. Deep and dense on the palate with round tannins. This ia great expression of Malbec from the sunny days and cold nights of Altamira.
Pairs well with steak, pork dishes, and chicken in rich sauces.
Blue fruit with black olives and dried lavender on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with polished, rather dense tannins. Structured finish.James Suckling April 2021
A red destined for the by-the-glass market, the 2019 Malbec Paraje Altamira shows an approachable and commercial profile with plenty of sweet spices and soft Malbec fruit and floral notes, all of it in good harmony. It has moderate ripeness and some austerity, fine tannins and a long finish. 24,000 bottles produced.Wine Advocate March 2021
This has some interesting savory edges to the aromas, taking Malbec fruit toward scents of Darjeeling tea and lavender. It’s rich on the palate, almost like a blackberry syrup, but the wine is not sweet, its firm texture making a lasting impression.Wine & Spirits October 2021
