This bright and brooding red blend shows the true potential of the Maule and Itata valleys.
Bright yet brooding. Up front, it is all fresh and expressive red berries. Then, on the palate, you find touches of herbs and cocoa. It finishes with bright cherry and vivacity.
It has the backbone for a pairing with grilled meats from lamb to steaks, but would shine with slow-cooked short ribs.
I tasted this for last year's report, but have decided to upgrade its score on second acquaintance. Combining mostly Carignan with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, it's a minty, chocolatey pan-Chilean blend with serious tannins, damson and black fig flavours and tangy acidity.Tim Atkin March 2020
A blend of mostly Carignan with Cabernets Franc and Sauvignon and Petit Verdot from Valle Central, aged for 28 months. It displays a ripe character with a nose of raspberry and cherry jam and wood. In the mouth, firm tannins and a tight, juicy structure. Subdued with a frank finish.Vinous March 2020
