S38 marks a single, small soil block in Casa Silva’s iconic Los Lingues vineyard. Years of intensive soil studies and micro-vinifications have shown that the S38 grapes produce world-class Cabernet Sauvignon with outstanding freshness, balance and depth from its deep, stony soils. This limited production wine offers an exclusive taste of this “Gran Terroir” at the foothills of Chile’s Andes mountains.
An intense and deep ruby color with aromatic notes of red fruits and spices. The wine has a powerful entry, silky tannins, balanced acidity, pleasant mouthfeel and an elegant and persistent finish.
Try with seared flank steak with pebre salsa (Chilean pico de gallo), Ratatouille, beef jerky empanadas.
Made with grapes from a parcel of the Los Lingues vineyard in the Colchagua Andes, this 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested on March 20 and aged for 14 months in new and used barrels. Even though comes from a warm year, it offers a ripe profile (14.6% alcohol) with just the right doses of barrel flavor; chocolate, vanilla, cassis and strawberry jam, over a bed of herbs. Initially rich, on the palate it is full-bodied with a taut texture and fine, well-polished tannins. Departs with a bold aftertaste in which all the ingredients feel well-integrated.Vinous March 2020
Rich, dark and concentrated with prominent 80% new wood and plenty of supporting tannin and scented blackcurrant fruit.Tim Atkin 2019
