One of Argentina’s oldest varietals, this rare barrel-fermented white is harvested from 60+ year-old vines and has fresh, clean citrus aromas with a hint of oak.
Enjoy fresh, clean citric and herbal notes. Flavors of citrus, tropical fruit, coconut, and caramel are elegant and soft on the palate. A lovely dose of crisp acidity provides a texture similar to that of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc combined. A super dry and clean finish may make this the ultimate seafood wine.
Pairs excellently with most seafood dishes. Try with shrimp ceviche, steamed muscles, fresh oysters or grilled lobster.
This has very attractive, flinty grapefruit and lemon with a concentrated and long palate that has unwaveringly fresh, rich lemons. Gentle, almond flow at the finish. Drink or hold.James Suckling March 2019
Most of this superb Semillon comes from an old vine parcel in Paraje Altamira. Pale in colour, but not lacking in flavour or intensity, it has notes of struck match, beeswax and citrus with chiselled focus and length. A wine that ages brilliantly. 2020-2026Tim Atkin May 2019
Pale lemon-yellow color. Alluring scents of lemon zest, lime blossom and minerals, plus a sexy honeyed nuance. At once rich and sappy, conveying a restrained sweetness to its tactile citrus and floral flavors. This highly concentrated wine delivers more weight than the 2017 bottling but also has the lemony briskness and salinity to complement briny shellfish and oysters. A wonderfully mouthcoating, classically dry Semillon with an explosive finish. This wine has a remarkable track record for consistency--and longevity--but I don't recall a stronger vintage than this 2018.Vinous September 2019
