2006 Tikal Patriota
92 Points
Robert Parker Jr's "The Wine Advocate",
December 2007
"The 2006 Patriota is an identical blend [to the 2005]. It has greater depth and a longer finish than its 2005 counterpart."

2005 Tikal Patriota

Robert Parker Jr's "The Wine Advocate",
December 2007
"The 2005 Patriota is composed of 60% Bonarda and 40% Malbec aged for 12 months in 30% new French oak and the remaining 70% in seasoned French and American barrels. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered. Purple-colored, Patriota offers a fragrant bouquet of cedar, pencil lead, blueberry, and black cherry. Medium-bodied, on the palate notes of raspberry and chocolate also emerge. The wine is vibrant, balanced, and lengthy."

Review by the Wine & Spirits,
June 2007
"Bonarda and malbec, Argentina's flagship red grapes, offer all their charm in this blend: The bonarda delivers juicy, ripe red fruit and a soft, lush texture; the malbec adds elegant tannins plus violet and dry red cherry notes. The result is delicious and vibrant, ready to pour now with slices of proscuitto."

"
Big, juicy, forward style, with layers of plum sauce, blackberry, spicy toast and mocha flavors. For the fruit-bomb loving crowd."

"
Primary, grapey nose hints at black cherry and licorice with an exotic suggestion of marmalade. Sweet, fat, round and smooth, currently showing...moderate complexity. This relies as much on its firm acidity as its soft tannins for shape and structure."
