Unoaked Chardonnay from high elevation, highlighting the taste of the terroir.
Pale gold yellow with shades of green. The nose opens with hints of white peach, pear and white flowers. A subtle note of butter complete it´s great typicity. Freshness and brightness frame its balance and complexity. Persistent and mineral finish.
Pairs well with soft cheeses and herbed seafood dishes.
There is a brightness and focus in the 2013 Locura 1 that makes it quite different from the 2014. It is a Chardonnay from Alto Cachapoal, basically unoaked and matured with lees for one year. It has the classical notes from the grape and superb length, persistence and minerality; the wine is very precise and focused. It does not go through malolactic fermentation. This is mineral and tasty, and superb value for the money. The Wine Advocate September 2015
Explosively perfumed aromas of fresh citrus fruits, melon, honey and white flowers, with a fennel nuance that gains strength with air. Deeply pitched Meyer lemon and pear flavors are sharpened by a mineral nuance and a hint of white pepper. Combines power and finesse with a deft hand and finishes long and stony, with excellent clarity and a subtle touch of iodine. This sexy Chardonnay was raised entirely in older oak casks.Vinous June 2015
