The winery’s top production blend; made in minimal quantities and bottle-aged before release.
Lively and intense deep ruby color. On the nose, elegant and complex with notes of ripe red fruits, blackberry and dried plums. Excellent balance between French oak and fruit. On the palate, intense, full, rich and expressive. Round with elegant tannins which leads through to a very long and harmonious finish.
Pairs well with everything from salumi platters to whole roasted meats off the wood-fire grill.
This wine reminded me of the Microterroir Carmenere with its balsamic and bright fruit aromas. It also has the Alto Cachapoal-like profile, with the added complexity of the other grapes. It is medium-bodied, juicy and has a fleshy palate, with fine-grained tannins and good freshness. It has a floral, herbal finish that makes it very attractive, drinkable and showy. A great blend – the future for Carmenere? The Wine Advocate June 2014
Opaque ruby. Dark berries, vanilla and mocha on the explosively perfumed nose. Lush and open-knit, offering sweet, deeply pitched blackberry, cherry-vanilla and cocoa powder flavors. Finishes sweet and round, with soft tannins, a late note of licorice and excellent persistence. Lovely depth here.Vinous February 2014
