Dark, bold and super-expressive with aromatic energy and overall vibrancy.
Aromas of smoky blackberry, boysenberry, and herbs, with notes of cola and vanilla. Spicy dark berry and candied cherry flavors on the palate, with floral and olive nuances. Juicy and concentrated but lively, with soft tannins and a strong finish.

The 2014 Syrah Santa Barbara County, which saw 15% stems and a year on lees in neutral oak, offers terrific cool climate-like notes of peppery herbs, black olives, smoked meats and black fruits. Medium to full-bodied, rich, textured and nicely concentrated, this is a beauty that has real personality and character. Drink it over the coming 6-7 years or so.The Wine Advocate August 2016
A powerful, dense wine, the 2014 Syrah Santa Barbara County packs a serious punch. The flavors are dark, bold and super-expressive. Black cherry, plum, menthol, licorice and dark spices are some of the signatures. I especially like the wine's aromatic energy and overall vibrancy. The 2014 is a blend of fruit from Verna's and Kimsey done with 10% whole clusters and aged in 20% new oak. If this is the appellation wine, I can't wait to taste the vineyard designates.Vinous September 2016
