One of the more fruit-driven, pure and elegant Pinot Noirs in the Samsara lineup. Balanced and textured with both freshness and richness.
Ripe red and dark berries, candled rose, and allspace on the nose. Plush, pliant, and gently sweet with black raspberry and cherry-cola flavors. Weighty, creamy, and lively with a long, round, spicy finish.
Stuffed eggplant with pinenuts and currants, Fennel and garlic-crusted pork loin roast, nutty aged cheeses
I loved the 2012 Pinot Noir Cargasacchi Vineyard from barrel and it didn't disappoint from bottle. Giving up rocking notes of strawberries, raspberries and cherries, it has tons of spice, dried earth and underbrush aromas and flavors that continue to develop and change in the glass. Medium to full-bodied, balanced and textured, with both freshness and richness, it's a beautifully complete Pinot Noir that should evolve gracefully. Completely destemmed and aged 20 months in 50% new French oak, this is easily the more fruit-driven, pure and elegant Pinot Noir in the lineup. The Wine Advocate August 2015
The most backward and brooding of these wines, the 2012 Pinot Noir Cargasacchi Vineyard boasts terrific depth and overall intensity. The Cargasacchi was picked a bit riper than the other wines in the range, which shows in the wine's dark fruit profile and overall personality. At the same time, the tannins are pretty forbidding, so patience is going to be essential. Hints of game, smoke and tobacco appear over time, but the 2012 needs time in bottle to fully come together, that much is obvious. The 2012 was done with 33% stem inclusion.Vinous August 2015
