A rich and passionate ‘Love Affair’ between Argentina’s beloved Malbec & Cabernet Franc.
Aromas of smoky oak and cherry. Mouthwatering, penetrating flavors of ripe red and black cherries, red berries. Quite rich and velvety on the palate, and finishes with just enough grip to make it a real winner with food. This is some seriously sexy Malbec.
Pairs well with grilled or smoked meats such as beef, pork, and lamb. Also complements dishes prepared with cheese or cream sauces.
The wine matured in French and American oak barrels for 14 months. I think the two varieties work very nicely together. There is great balance here and a mixture of peppery notes and floral aromas, very balanced and fresh. This blend is a one-off, as it's usually Petit Verdot. Here you have a nice texture and a combination of the rounder tannins from the Malbec and the sharper, more austere ones from Cabernet Franc. The Wine Advocate December 2016
Bright ruby-red. Vibrant aromas of raspberry and flowers. Savory, fine-grained, dry wine with considerable class and complexity; much more backward, saline and tightly coiled than the 2014 Patriota, and not yet showing the sweetness of that wine. Tannins are smooth and harmonious.Vinous March, 2016
Floral, grapy aromas are exotic and herbal. High acidity creates energy but also a shearing sense. Currant, red plum and spice flavors end with a blast of blazing acidity and notes of baking spices, cocoa and herbs.Wine Enthusiast October, 2016
