From 60+ year-old vineyards at the ‘Faraway Ranch’ in Altamira (Uco Valley), this dense Malbec is full-bodied with thick tannins
Dark as night, a basket of enticing floral aromas (especially violets), Malbec’s intense red and black fruit flavors underlined with superbly integrated French oak notes giving way to a long, spicy finish.
Firm but supple tannins make this wine worthy of rich foods like steak with a port reduction, duck with an intense cherry sauce, or a slowly-braised veal shank.
It's aromatic and open, with red fruit, floral, expressive, complex and a little chalky, with an earthy touch. The palate shows the expressive character of the variety and the chalky minerality of the limestone soils. It's balanced, tasty and long. Not a super powerful Malbec, but it's concentrated enough and is especially balanced.Wine Advocate June 2018
A big and juicy red with blackberry and chocolate character. Full-bodied, chewy and rich. Shows focus and structure.James Suckling April 2018
Deep ruby. A superb example of Malbec, with mineral-tinged black fruit flavors displaying terrific inner-mouth definition and lift. Finishes very long, with serious dusty tannins and a lingering note of licorice.Vinous July 2018
