From 60+ year-old vineyards at the ‘Faraway Ranch’ in Altamira (Uco Valley), this dense Malbec is full-bodied with thick tannins
Dark as night, a basket of enticing floral aromas (especially violets), Malbec’s intense red and black fruit flavors underlined with superbly integrated French oak notes giving way to a long, spicy finish.
Firm but supple tannins make this wine worthy of rich foods like steak with a port reduction, duck with an intense cherry sauce, or a slowly-braised veal shank.
Editor's Choice. Smooth blackberry, chocolate, violet and raisin aromas make for a complete nose. A saturated, ripe palate is a touch heavy, while heady flavors of licorice, black peppercorn and blackberry are slightly charred on a flush finish. Drink through 2022.Wine Enthusiast December 2017
Bright, dark ruby. Very dark scents of blackberry, cassis, violet and licorice. At once dense and penetrating, displaying serious depth to its black fruit and licorice flavors. This powerful, tactile, very long wine shows an inky primary quality today and will need serious patience. Finishes with strong chewy tannins and a note of bitter chocolate. I'd love to see this big boy in six or seven years.Vinous July 2017
A juicy and flavorful wine with blackberry, chocolate and light coffee character. Medium body and firm and silky tannins.James Suckling June 2017
