Notes of cassis, red and black pepper, and spices. There are beautiful mineral notes and integrated oak characteristics such as vanilla, caramel, and smoke. The mature and soft tannins are round with a fresh acidity. Concentrated, balanced, and full-flavored, it displays both elegance and freshness.
Pairs well with grilled meats such as chicken, pork and beef. Try with sharp cheeses, wild mushrooms or grilled vegetables.

Bright medium ruby. Musky, initially reticent aromas of dark raspberry, currant and tobacco opened nicely with air. Plush and very concentrated, conveying an impression of roasted berries but also sound acidity and a firm spine of dusty tannins. 2015 was an extremely difficult vintage for Cabernet Sauvignon and the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendel can be considered a success. There is a mix of plum, spice and earth aromas, perhaps a little blurry. The palate shows dusty tannins and a dry finish, slightly austere.The Wine Advocate December 2016
