An iconic 100% old-vine Malbec from the 80-year old Rosas Vineyard in the Uco Valley.
Deep, dark color—you could use it in an inkwell! Dense and concentrated but never loses its ability to exude the red and black fruits and spice that are the true expression of Malbec in Mendoza. This is a huge wine that is a blend of old-vine grapes from 2 of Mendoza’s most respected growers, located in two different districts. Only 4 barrels produced. While you certainly could drink this now, it will improve considerably with 3-5 years in the bottle. If you do drink it now, decant a few hours before drinking.
Try with meats such as beef, pork or chicken. Pairs well with aged cheeses.
The purity of fruit on the nose really makes an impression with notes of brambleberries, boysenberries, citrus, licorice, roasted herbs and loads of Chinese spies. The full-bodied palate delivers a wealth of fruit, but it's so focused and refined. The acidity is right on point as is the precision and refinement.James Suckling December 2018
Bright ruby. Slightly higher-toned on the nose and palate than the Beso de Dante, offering aromas of blackberry, blueberry, licorice, mint and minerals. Boasts terrific inner-mouth lift and clarity without any hard edges. Fine-grained and light on its feet, with firm acidity and clear minerality giving the wine an extremely youthful character without any austerity. Finishes with broad but suave tannins and terrific persistence.Vinous July 2018
There are some spicy aromas and notes of cinnamon and vanilla, with a core of ripe fruit reflecting the conditions of the year. The palate is medium to full-bodied with some grainy tannins and marked flavors. The Wine Advocate June 2018
