A lush and juicy Petit Verdot-based blend that consistently overdelivers.
Aromas of blackberry, coffee, mocha, chocolate, and fig. Sweet and creamy with good lift to the black raspberry, licorice, and violet flavors. Finishes with tongue-dusting but suave tannins and very nice length.
Try with shredded beef, lamb chops with mint jelly, or grilled salmon with sage and tarragon.
The 2012 Chaman Red Blend is a co-fermentation of Petit Verdot with a little full-cluster Malbec from La Consulta in the Uco Valley and around 20% of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon from Ugarteche in Lujan de Cuyo, produced for the second time in 2012. It has a serious, balanced and elegant nose with hints of complexity, notes of plums, violets, spices and a terse, fine texture with ripe, glossy tannins showing a little bit of the character of the vintage. I-m looking forward to tasting the 2013 version of this wine. Drink now-2018.The Wine Advocate April 2014
